EnTech's traveling computer

EnTech's traveling computer

It was the early 1980’s and where there is a will…there is a way.

Before the time of laptops, we needed a computer on the jobsite, so we created our own traveling “laptop” by loading up the monitors & hard drives into a van and had a truck carry the electric generator. Later, we used marine batteries to run the computers.

Now, we use powerful & light-weight laptops on client sites.

We’ve come a long way in 30 years!

* Celebrating 30 Years in Business! 1980-2010

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

It was 1980, a gallon of gas cost $1.19, a half gallon of milk was $0.85 and the average income was $19,000; and EnTech Engineering, Inc. was started by Gary J. Weil in a one room office in downtown St.Louis, Missouri. The purpose: to perform industrial, civil and residential state-of-the-art, infrared, thermographic testing and analyses.

This was ambitious considering  this was  also the year that a “hands free operating car phone” was introduced with a $788.00 price tag, IBM began releasing their first “personal computer” and we hadn’t even been introduced to Knight Rider yet!

During the past 30 years, we have maintained our leadership in the NDT market by improving services to meet rising customer demands by developing unique stacked technologies to provide our clients with superior data and better analysis tools.  We hold 10 U.S. and International patents, have published over 70 international papers, and have contributed to standard NDT manuals.

That one room office has long been replaced by our World Headquarters in Ballwin, MO and our production facility in St.Louis, MO. And, Mr.Weil is no longer alone in the office, he is  surrounded by a professional engineering and support staff.

So, yes it is with great pride and joy that we are celebrating our 30th anniversary and looking forward to many more. As we take a trip down memory lane and look upon our humble beginnings, we are thankful for our satisfied and loyal customers, and for our hardworking employees that have made this company what it is today.
