Example Projects
Infrared based Earthen Dam and Levee Wall Subsurface Anomaly Investigation System
All objects emit electromagnetic radiation at wavelengths and intensities dependent upon their absolute energy levels. EnTech Engineering, Inc.’s EnSITE® VII system utilizes an Infrared Radiometer with a customized digital sensor (IRFPA) coupled with proprietary hardware and software that converts the emitted radiation into electronic signal maps that are saved as radiometric map files. This patented system is designed to optimize the detection of subsurface fluid & moisture seepage, fluid & moisture trails, soil density & compaction changes, settling and erosion voids, buried debris, and buried hazardous wastes as well as pipelines and their pump & valve boxes.
The Infrared energy flow patterns sensed by the helicopter mounted sensors are located on the levee surfaces and caused by the changes in subsurface thermal capacity and thermal conductivities caused by liquids, solids and voided construction materials.
EnTech’s EnSITE® VII System’s extreme accuracy would be useless without a system designed to allow repair crews to return to the exact anomaly location. To accomplish this, EnTech has partnered with Aerotec to incorporate their sub-foot accuracy LIDAR+GPS 3D profiling and mapping system.
