EnTech provides subsurface diagnostics that offer a dynamic view of underground infrastructure. Our stacking technologies create a comprehensive system that supplies our clients with timely and accurate information enabling them to make informed decisions.
Underground pipelines can be easily mapped using several non-invasive techniques. Large networks of pipelines are best mapped using our Aerial Infrared Energy Pattern Analysis (IR-EPA) investigation platform. Our IR-EPA systems detect specific energy patterns created by underground pipelines. Our Licensed Professional Engineers use this information and map each pipeline's location and path on a Geographical Information System (GIS) that is provided to the client.
Our Second Generation Ground Penetrating Microwave Radar (GPR) systems are better suited for small pipeline mapping projects. GPR can map underground utilities and determine their depth and relative size. Combined, IR-EPA and GPR provide us a wealth of information that helps clients make informed decisions.
An aerial investigation can be complimented with Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR). Sub-meter GPS accuracy ensures field crews can easily locate pipelines and valve-boxes. We can investigate the entire system using this method without disrupting workflow and cut costs by efficiently targeting pipeline assets that may require further investigation for possible leaks (see Leak Detection).

THE PROJECT
A drought stricken municipality in the Southwest contacted EnTech to locate water pipeline leaks throughout their 150 mile water distribution system. They reported that their system was losing nearly 13 million gallons of water per month, representing a staggering 30% loss.
OUR TECHNOLOGY
Data collection for this project was done from a helicopter using our patented stacked technology and included visual imaging, Infrared Energy Pattern Analysis (IR-EPA) and LIDAR (light detection and ranging).
THE PERSONALIZED SOLUTION
We processed and merged the complex data to create a comprehensive and useful report. Our easy to interpret report lead to the best repair solution for our client. This leak was one of many identified in this project, helping this town regain control over its precious water supply.
Our licensed Professional Engineers help clients evaluate, maintain, preserve, and extend the life of your water distribution systems and facilities.
EnTech can non-invasively pin-point problems & suggest repairs on most types of pipelines without affecting traffic, system flows or service with greater than 80% cost savings when compared to invasive testing & trenching techniques.
