Railway Evaluation

EnTech provides subsurface diagnostics that offer a dynamic view of subsurface conditions that can affect railway infrastructure. Our stacking technologies create a comprehensive system that supplies our clients with timely and accurate information enabling them to make informed decisions.

Railway evaluation begins with an Infrared Energy Pattern Analysis (IR-EPA) investigation at the client-specified areas. Our IR-EPA systems detect specific temperature patterns created by underground voids, pipeline leaks, abandoned foundations and underground storage tanks (USTs).

The IR-EPA investigation can be complimented with Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) for large aerial surveys. Sub-meter GPS accuracy ensures that field crews can easily locate each anomalous area. We can investigate the entire system without disrupting workflow and cut costs because of our abilities to target the areas which need further investigation.

Each investigation can be futher explored utilizing Second Generation Ground Penetrating Microwave Radar (GPR). GPR provides 3-D views of specific areas that require more detail than IR-EPA can provide. This additional information, such as composition, depth, and size of underground anomalies, can help our clients remediate underground leaks.

Project

A large Southern water municipality called EnTech for assistance when a section of distribution pipelines running under several sets of railroad tracks was believed to be leaking, causing erosion and voids. The objective was to identify and locate the leaks without disrupting the pipelines or rail traffic.

Our Technology

Our Professional engineers used Infrared Energy Pattern Analysis (IR-EPA) sensing equipment to identify the pipeline and their leaks, and Second Generation Ground Penetrating Microwave Radar (GPR) to provide 3-D analysis including depth and density of each anomaly. By blending these technologies with expert analysis, we produced an all-inclusive report that enabled our client to quickly find and remediate each anomalous area.

The Personalized Solution

Our comprehensive and useful reports were produced in a timely manner, and presented in a format to enable our client to prioritize and schedule repairs and avoid costly emergency shut downs.

Our licensed Professional Engineers will help you evaluate, maintain, monitor and extend the life of your infrastructure.

EnTech utilized patented and stacked proprietary non-invasive technologies and years of experience to suggest repairs on most types of pipelines without affecting traffic, system flows and service with a major cost savings when compared to invasive testing and trenching techniques.
